I have Mbox 3 Pro interface and ProTools 10 software. I have problem with the Tuner on Mbox - it doesn't work and also on ProTools software the Click don't work. Can somebody give me some suggestion how to repair this problem.

The issue is in fact firmware-related as members in this thread have speculated. We’ve handled a small number of cases in which the firmware update fails in such a way as to disable the onboard effects and tuner, leaving all other functionality intact. The number of reported firmware update failures is extremely low among units sold but we are aware of and investigating the issue. At this time, the only way to resolve this failure is to send the unit in for repair. You do not need to purchase an Avid Support Code to contact Avid regarding a repair issue. In North America please call (650) 731-6100 and press option 3 for the repair line. In all other regions please contact your reseller for repair.




It appears there is no way to rectify this issue with a firmware update. Once it corrupts you can’t reload it, so it becomes a hardware level repair. You’ll need to send it in, with an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number:

No, I had hoped for a firmware or driver update that would fix the issues but that may not happen at all. Avid's mention of covering "under warranty" units also discouraged me from trying to get service as I'm pretty sure I'm out of warranty. Though, after hearing about your positive experience, I'll probably do the same as you soon.

Serio - you and I have had some issues with our MBoxes for a bit. I was able to use a code to get rolling and have gotten my problem taken care of. I was reasonable and not demanding, and had a great experience. There were a very small batch of mboxes that apparently had some funky thing going on and Avid and I came to a resolution that we both felt good about. I hope you will have an equally good experience; just get with them!
