Default Mute MIDI CC data?

Is there a way to make selected MIDI controller data inactive, but still play back the track? For example, I have a MIDI track with some mod wheel automation, and I want to temporarily hear the track without it. Holding ctrl+cmd works for audio automation, but didn't do it for MIDI. Thanks.

I don't think I've ever discovered a feature like this. Usually, I delete the data, play it back without, and then "Undo". Ugly, but it works.

Or just dup playlist and delete the relevant CC data. Unlike automation, CC is preserved per playlist. I do this all the time when I like the notes I played but didn't nail the performance data.
