Default RTAS Latency Issues

I recently upgraded to 7.2 Protools (waited for plugins to catchup)
I have found when using verbs in RTAS (because of Waves IR-1 Rtas only)
on an Aux Channel that there is an extreme amount of latency delay.
Measured today at 270ms with the direct only signal as test
This also happens with all other rtas verbs, digiverb, trueverb,
RVerb, IR-1 etc..

I am also having an extreme amount of latency on the new
Xpand synth with midi input.

This is why I love all my hardware devices so much..

Mac G5 Twin 2gig
System 10.4.6
Protools 7.2
TDM HD2
Muscle Shoals Neve 8068 Mk1
Lotso analog gear....

Thanks,
G

Hi,

What is your hardware buffer set to? and do you have any big latency creating plugs in the session when using Xpand! especially any on the mix bus!! When ADC is ON your track is playing delay compensated and you are playing in real time!! PLaying live with ADC on is almost impossible, you need to turn it off for playing and de-activate any huge delay causing plugs till you finished your playing.

Are you testing the reverbs when the session is running? this is when ADC is working and compensating for the delay caused by plugins!! the bigger the hardware buffer the bigger the latency.

Chris
