Latest Pro Tools on a 2011 iMac?

This is a great item for TB equipped computers. It's an easy "upgrade" for USB-2 iMacs and MBPs to USB-3. I have one on my new 15" Retina MacBook Pro. I can run two 27" HD monitors with it as well as a 2TB USB3 HD. I save some "wear and tear" on the laptop MB as the dock supplies power to all USB powered peripherals. 2 of the 5 USB-3 ports are high powered.

On my early 2011 MB Pro 15" which is USB-2 equipped , I also use one as it provides USB3. I use another 2TB USB3 HD with it.

The down side seems to be that it uses some TB bandwidth and it counts in the total number chained on TB.

Like anything else, it's not for everyone. It's an option.

I have no affiliation with OWC. I did some research before I bought the first one. There are other TB docks out there, but this one is King of the Hill.
