That would indicate there was something wrong with Firewire communication.

Are you sure you've disabled firewire networking in the System Preferences>Network control panel?

Yes, the firewire networking is off.

If not a 400>800 connection issue, could it just be a bum FW port on the digi003 or Imac?

I'm bumping this thread because my problem is extremely similar to this. I'm running PT8 on a dual 2.5 G5 with 2.5Gb ram. When I am running a session it is exactly the same error at exactly the same times. With two processors selected, the session reaches max 50% and then the error, and about 85% with one processor selected. In PT 7 I could run the same size sessions with two processors no problem. I'm not using a firewire drive. I'm in the same boat, if the processor was actually being maxed out in a normal way I would be fine with dealing with the inadequacy of the computer.
