waves gold vs. native gold
What's the difference? (besides twice the price for gold?)
Is the native gold bundle usable for the 001, and something I can upgrade later if I want? thanks. |

Re: waves gold vs. native gold
I'm fairly certain that this is how it goes:
There's "native" and then there's TDM: Native versions are for computers which use the computer cpu for doing all the processing work while using Pro Tools. In other words, PTLE setups. TDM plugs are for setups that delegate processing responsibilities to cards and such, lightening up the load on the computer's cpu. TDM plugs from Waves are usually much more, and are used exclusively with the mentioned setup. If you're using with PTLE, you'd need the native package. The native gold package is a great one: I use it and have no regrets about investing the money. It can be upgraded to the native platinum package, which includes something like 6 more plugins (6 really, really nice ones). I think this is what you were asking about...if not, sorry I hope this helps! paul
