strike will not play a midi note on a track

i seem to remember running into this a few years ago

i can play a note on strike's keyboard and hear a loop...but strike decided not to play by way of being triggered by a midi note on the track - very odd as it was playing the track - but now has stopped

i think it's just a switch somewhere - i seem to recall that it took me forever to figure out last time

oh well...at least i have beer

any ideas would be very welcome

hey i hate looking for things i've forgot...so i copied the midi track into a new track and launched a new instance of strike - all good - i'm back

View>Mix Window Views>Instruments. Strike MIDI Output assignment misaligned? Inactivation and re-activation is one cause. Dragging VI Plug-Ins is another.
