I hear sound but can see no level, wave data or whatsoever
Hello there,
I am on PT 9 on a Mac. 1.) I imported a session from an earlier version through "Import --> Session Data." 2.) The edit window pops up, I can play the sound and all tracks seem to be in place - at least I can hear them - but they simply don't show up in the edit window. The level meter shows no activity while it is playing back the sound ... Any help is most appreciated! All the best, Jan |

Don't know if this is of any help, but it's probably worth having a look;

Re: I hear sound but can see no level, wave data or whatsoever
thanks zedhead, but I couldn't spot there any information specific to my case .. but i guess it must be some compatibility issue ... I can the complete arrangement and I was asked while importing for all used tracks but they simply do not show up in the edit window. I am not sure if it has something to do with stereo mono tracks ... as only mono tracks show up so far but also not all of the mono tracks ...

Re: I hear sound but can see no level, wave data or whatsoever
apologies for my sloppy typing! What I wanted to say is:
I can HEAR the complete arrangement and while importing I was asked for all used tracks to have them imported but they simply do not show up in the edit window. |

I believe if you go to the region pull down menu, you can recalculate the views. It sounds like it just didn't calculate them when they were brought into the session.

You sure you're not in Blocks view? Pg 218 of Ref Manual.
Mike.

Re: I hear sound but can see no level, wave data or whatsoever
PT 9 does handle waveforms differently than previous versions. Recalculating your views should take care of it. I'd also go to WORKSPACE and have it update all of your directories.
