Default Embedded AAF from MC crashing 24.10

Hi,

I usually never use embedded AAFs but this current project is insisting on embedded AAF and they are all crashing PT24.10 on import. The full sequence (around 8GB) crashes PT and a small 5-minute test works fine The exact same ones open just fine in 24.6. Even the large ones.
No mixed sample rates which has been a problem under 24.6 in the past crashing PT.
Their MC hasn't got PT export yet, unfortunately.
I also tried importing every track from the AAF one by one but either one crashes PT. Going to work around it with 24.6 but maybe someone else has the same problem.

F.

Someone tested an 11GB embedded AAF (different project) for me on 24.10 which opened fine so it must be project specific I guess.

I've been fighting AAF related crashes aplenty over the last month. I can't really nail down a proper solution other than to jump between machines/Pro Tools versions and see if one of them works. Usually it does... eventually. 24.6 has been really problematic here, but I also updated to it in the first place because it imported an AAF that 24.3 couldn't do without crashing. Yesterday I updated to 24.10 and it imported an AAF 24.6 wouldn't.

It seems a bit haphazard, like there is a lot of variation between MC version AAF exports and PT version AAF imports.

I just opened a 7.4GB embedded AAF from Premier in 2024.10.1 without any issues.

Over the past few days I've received three embedded AAFs from MC, a 2023 variant, imported into 2024.10.1 without issue.
