Default HDX card with Blue 192 I/O on Pro Tools 2022.6

Hi,
I am experimenting with Pro Tools 2022.6 and am trying to set it up using a Windows PC, AVID HDX card, Blue 192 I/O, and Blue 192 Sync. I have the Blue 192 I/O connected to the HDX card at the primary port and the Sync hooked up via a serial cable. The units are plugged in and appear to be working. I also have a Digilink license that is on an ilok usb drive which is plugged into the computer. I have tested the HDX card and it appears to be working with no errors on DigiTest. The I/O and Sync devices do not appear to be detected. I am attaching the images from DigiTest. Does anyone have any idea why the I/O and Sync are not being detected? I have read several posts where people claim it should work but I am getting no recognition at all. I am attaching a Sandra report below.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Default Re: HDX card with Blue 192 I/O on Pro Tools 2022.6

First off. the blue Sync will not work unless it says "Sync HD." All other Sync units will not work.

Second, are you trying to run this in a virtual machine? That isn't going to work.

The 192 will work. Do you have the right cables? Are you hooked to port 1 on the HDX card? (port 1 connected to primary using an adapter cable)

What is the configuration on the 192? is it a 192 digital or just 192. And what modules and which positions of the 4 option slots are filled on the back. The default on a 192 (non-digital) is, looking from the back, analogue input card top left, analogue output card bottom left, digital input/out card top right, blank in bottom right. Both types of 192 had specific places for the modules or they wouldn't work.

The Sandra report is showing the host operating system view of a Hyper-V virtual switch that could be used to communicate to virtual machines, it's showing the host OS, notWindows in a virtual machine.

To the OP: As bad as running Pro Tools inside a virtual machine can be (that's very very badly.. but you also would not get to use PCIe cards in the VM) running Pro Tools on a host computer that is running virtual machines is also quite likely to be problematic because of the impact of virtual machines and how they can smack around scheduling on the overall computer. Not something anybody should be doing. So make sure no VMs are running when you use Pro Tools.

Thanks for posting. It looks like the 192 Sync is incompatible. I do not have an HD Sync unit. I am not running Pro Tools on a virtual machine. The virtual machine shows up because of Docker running in the background (All virtual machines on docker are off so there shouldn't be any conflicts) and the HDX card itself seems to be working just fine. As far as the 192 I/O unit I am attaching pictures of the hookups which I believe are correct. Will I need to get a Sync HD to make it work? Thanks.

I mean, I did get Pro Tools working at the same time as VMware hosting Windows which in turn was hosting several VMware VMs. With HDX on a MacPro7,1. Not my default operating environment obviously.

I stuck a knife into a (240V Australian) power outlet as a kid. And lived. And still don't recommend doing it.

I wanted to clarify I am not running any virtual machines on my PC. Docker is installed which is why the virtual machine shows up. My loop module is not HD which means it is incompatible. The 192 I/O should be compatible but again is not showing up.

I am attaching images of the setup. I believe everything is hooked up correctly. Customer support says I may need to upgrade to pro tools ultimate but then I don't see the point of the DigiLink license.

You mean after all this you only have Pro Tools Studio? That won't work--you need Pro Tools Ultimate. Clearly explained by Avid in lots of places. The Digilink license is no longer a thing, and it *never* authorized Digilink systems to work with anything but Pro Tools Ultimate.

The economics of running Digilink for low-end configurations may not make sense, you may be better off to sell this, and run with Pro Tools Studio and a 3rd party CoreAudio/ASIO interface. If you want/need HDX or have very large IO counts it's a different matter.

Yup. No Ultimate no HDX hardware (or HD)
All digilink connection hardware is reserved for the top tier software.
That is your problem. And this is the way it has always been (when you wanted to run the 192 originally, you needed HD software)
