Default Custom built PC

I need som advice for having a custom PC built for me. What about motherboard, hard drive, CPU, graphic-card and memory. Very grateful for an answer while I´m a musician and not an expert of computers.

Hi. Please consult the 001 PC compatibility page on the Digidesign website.

Thanks

Also check this site. They built custom computers just for the 001 PC:

Without giving the name of the company that built my system, I will tell you that it sounds like Brave Pigital These guys built a rock solid system with the Digi001 installed and running right out of the box.
Here is the system I have:

PentIII 600 Mhz Processor
Intel 440bx Motherboard
384MB RAM
15.3G 7200rpm Seagate HD(System)
20.5G 7200RPM Seagate HD(Audio)
Plextor 8x4x32 Burner
Floppy drive
Digi 001 system
CD architect software

I have been using the system for about a month now, and not one problem to report.
I've had the track count up to 20 with various plugins going at the same time, no sweat. I think the Digi 001 gets alot more flack than it deserves, it has been up to everything I have thrown at it.

I have seen this company out there in the trenches low prices pre-configured out of the box. They gave me free consulting on a wide range of options.

Wave built my system too. Mine was the first Digi001 W98 they built for. Good prices. And flexible.

Hello Frank and Darryl,

Thank you for the kind words. I hope everything is going well with your systems. We haven't spoke in a while, so I guess that means they are.;-)

Carl,
I would stick to name brands for components. We have had tremendous success with the Intel SE440BXNAV2, Seagate Barracuda and Cheetah, and Kingston Ram, amongst others. We have not had one problem with any 001 installation for the PC (ide or scsi). Good luck with whichever way you choose to go.

Best regards,

Chris Richmond

This company builds and designs custom systems at a pretty good price, well worth the little extra charged for off loading the head ache of setup and tweaking.
