Default MAudio PA Speakers

MAudio PA Speakers

Are these new? or did I just miss the product launch? I was strolling around Avids site and saw these. Never noticed the category before.

I never knew of them before the PT9 demo last week at Soundcheck Nashville. I have to say, they sounded pretty bad(really need a good 31 band EQ). If you are in the market for powered PA speakers in that size, look at(and listen to0 the Behringer. As shocked as I am at saying that, I was even more shocked at how decent they sound(and the only EQ I had to work with was a 4 band parametric on a Yamaha 01v). You gotta spend a lot more cash to get better speakers.

So they are something relatively new then. Good to know.

I sold my ADA8000. But it was still doing the job when I sold it. Always worked. People swear by their Truth monitors too.

Was the PT demo worth while?

Overall, it was decent enough(but for the distraction of poor live audio). As some suspected, I think the Euphonix Artist stuff is going to be the new controller to replace the Command8. Personally, I think that stuff is a tad too pricey(for me anyway). With the little PITA issues with the 003 lately, I may be using a controller less and less(a Presonus Faderport may be all I really need). Yesterday I was working a session all day and noticed the LED's around the pan knobs were not following the actual setting on any mono tracks(LED showed center, no matter where the actual knob was set and the MIX window showed the correct panning). Anyway, I know I got some new info, I just can't seem to remember what it was
