Default Audio moved forward after recording stopped...

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has noticed this before. It just happened to me several times the other day and I couldn't figure out why...

here's what happened... I went through a whole vocal session. Recording multiple takes and on several different tracks, etc... Everything was fine. But then we get to the end of the song and we are recording the adlibs...and after I finished recording a few of them we started listening back. They were all at least a few hundred samples EARLIER than where the singer sang them!!! I figured maybe I nudged them by accident. So I tried to spot them, and they spotted to the same place they were (being a few hundred samples early). I check and ADC was turned off...I also remembered something about "adjust for plugin delay after recording" and that was turned off.

I can't figure out why the tracks would have been timestamped (and placed) earlier than they were performed?? And also, why did it do that to just the last few takes I did and not all of them??? weird huh?

Hi all, I'm the guy from WinXP land having the same issue. Figured there might me strength in numbers so I thought I'd post here as well and follow the thread. I was on PT 6.9.3cs1 though what's strange is that I have a separate identical system drive and have been running sessions off of that with no problem. I was hoping 6.9.3cs2 would fix it but it caused PT to crash so I'm stuck using my drive with this sporadic problem for now.

Are any of you using any plug-ins in the session and, if so, which ones and on what tracks (master, aux, audio) are they located?

Is there any chance that the monitoring situation is such that latency/delay of any sort is being introduced during the monitoring of playback during tracking?

FWIW...I never had this problem before 6.9.3cs1. I am running mostly Waves (REQ, RCOMP, RVOX, Supertap, LinEQ), Digi (ReverbOne) and Digirack (Delays), possibly others. I do have a few instruments running on this project (NI B4, Reason 2.5, and Art Vista Virtual Grand). I can't remember the exact session that were having this problem but I will save copies of them and can send them if that would help. NOTE: I am on PT WinXP...

I've had this happening for MONTHS -- was driving me nut. SOLUTION: though counter-intuitive, I've not had the problem if I record with Delay Compensation ON. Now I leave ADC on all the time and haven't had the issue again, although it creates a more manageable problem of leaving a little bit of audio at the very end of recording passes.

Is it possible that there are entries in the H/W Insert Delay in IO Setups?

So - just to be sure everyone is on the same page - ADC is off and both 'Compensate for Input Delays' and 'Compensate for Output Delays' are unchecked in IO Setups?
