Arrow Melodyne Editor on PT LE 8.0.1

Hey DUC!

After searching the forum for any posts of this plug, I decided to open this thread.

I noticed that Melodyne uses a temporary folder for transfer files. This defaulted to "My Documents" folder. I changed that to a new folder I created on my audio drive. I also created another folder on my Audio Drive for the Audio Cache it requires. Any comments on this?

Also, even before creating these folders, I experience a very cumbersome and slow interface, as if my PC couldnt handle the plug. Paramenters change very slowly, and sometimes it seems that my system is gonna crash. In one particular test session, after opening a third instance of Melodyne, PT stopped responding all together and I had to manually shut down and restart. Already tried trashing prefs and databases.

Anyone using this plug have any recommendations?

Digi 002
i7 920
Asus P6T
6GB RAM
HIS HD 4650 (ATI chipset) 512MB Video Card
Windows XP 32-bit

Peace

Hmm, I just checked Digi's compatibility grid. It lists Essential and the now defunct Melodyne Plug-in. Apparently Editor isnt qualified just yet.

Anyhow, anybody got suggestions? I still have time to return this plug and get a different vocal tuning tool.

Thanks DUC.

My only experience with Melodyne Editor, is on "The Other Platform", and I'm using 18 - 20 instance of it in a session when I'm tuning BG vocals, on some REALLY big sessions.

I HAVE noticed it, "On the other side" considerable more CPU intensive then it's predecessor the "Plugin"

But I'm putting it through it's paces, and have the extra CPU headroom at this point in the session, so it's running really well.

I'd contact Melodyne, or post on the melodyne forum, and see if there are any optimizations, you can do, to get the plugin more stable for you on your system.

Editor is released, and qualified, I'd expect you to be able to get the same performance as me, regardless of platform.

I use Melodyne on PTS 7.3.1, and I worked an vocal parts which is 48 track and I had no problems. Just make sure you have the latest version as it is less CPU intensive.......I have picked this up with each version that it works better and less CPU intensive....And now on PTS 8.0.3........still works well
