What audio interface are you using that gives you 64 channels of analog I/O with hardware inserts for every channel? Even $100,000+ live sound consoles with 100+ inputs don't have hardware inserts for every channel any more.

Apollo x units racked.

I have a ton of outboard. Unfortunately I’ve divorced avid and moved on.

Default Re: Dear Avid, I am an ultimate user but this 32 channel limit!

I just want to use a single DANTE CAT6 cable to record 64 tracks into my protools,
I would even love to buy the Audinate Dante's PCIe card and get 128 channels.
Now we are talking crazy talk!!!

I will PAY AVID EXTRA MONEY for this feature!!!!!!

I am currently lugging around 1 network switch, 2 focusrite RedNet 5's, two DigiLink cables, Avid HD native, thunderbolt two cable, thunderbolt two to three adaptor in a 5 space rack. Defiantly global warming with all this crap!

HELP!!!!!

Just wait until AVB takes off. You'll be bale to use a single TB3 to TB2 adapter, with a TB2 to Ethernet adapter on your MacBook Pro and plug in to an AVB network and get 128 channels in each direction.

You sure ? Actions speak louder than words. Your reasons to move on may be totally valid for you. BUT IF you actually "moved on", you would not be compelled to return to announce it, and this thread would not exist.
You may have switched DAW's, but you have obviously yet to "move on"

I am sure they are listening. See how they are now selling extra voice packs for Ultimate license holders. Would I be a genious if they start selling extra IO packs soon enough? With that said I have absolutely zero inside info and if this happens it was just a lucky guess. We usually hear this stuff first from PTE not from Avid.

I thought you needed the special interface card to get the full benefit of AVB? That a standard ethernet I/O wouldn't do the full job.

AVB and Ethernet are electrically identical, but the thing is.. if you have 1m or 10m or 100m cable, there are different requirements.

The NIC and switches have to be specifically built to allow AVB. But Apple provides that function as part of their TB controller chips and is enabled when you use their TB3 to TB2 > TB2 to Ethernet adapters. USB (USB-C) to Ethernet adapters won't work because AVB functionality isn't included in their USB controller chips.

Yes, yes I have. It came too a point that we preferred to have EVERYTHING accessible without worries and I couldn’t be happier.

I hope they are listening..... I spent a weekend trying to hijack Dolby Audio Bridge, as it claims to do 130x130 in and out of protools.

I was able to get 128 channels out of protools with no extra hardware, but still only 32 channels in using the Dolby Audio Bridge. Big sad!!!
