Default Extensive Midi Editing

Just curious if anyone uses any outside programs for midi editing

I been using the MPC for pre sequencing, doing my audio tracking in PT, but been looking for a more indepth midi editing, was thinking of Logic but the fact that its discountinued on the PC is discouraging

Anyone care to share what you use, any comments, suggestions?

For editing, PT works as well as Logic did for me. For midi transforming such as arpeggiation and stuff, you can use Cubase ( which I personally do not like).

Specify what you want to accomplish with Midi.

I guess Im not to keen on the interface for the midi, but it should be more than capable to get the job done especially since I already know PT rather well, I guess I'll give it more of a chance, I just love the way the interface for Logic was setup, and plus I know how to read music so I was loving the score

Cubase bah... I hate the layout of that program so badly

True i liked Midi in Logic too - BUT - I found it hard coordinating midi and audio. Since in Logic, being in the midi piano roll editor took me out of the arrange window. Sometimes I was working on the wrong verse because I had no reference to whwre in the song I was except with the itty bitty markers. With audio files as refernce you can see by the waveform where you are in the song.

Try it and I suspect that soon you will accomplish everything you want quite easily.

Good luck

Got my new XP2600+ rig now for about two months and never-ever will I put Cubase on it. This rig will stay a 'Cubase-virgin' all it's life.

It'd also be nice if the TCE tool worked on MIDI regions. (Especially when changing the tempo of a song that contains MIDI.)

the midi tempo will automatically follow the song tempo. So if you change the audio tempo and fit the audio files with the TCE, the midi notes should already be aligned to the new grid.
