Default How long untill protools LE can run on leopard?
Basically yes thats what I want to know. How long untill protools can run on leopard? I herad they are working on it... but how long? any estimates?

Is this forum dead???????? it is ages since I posted this thread. I have ordered a new mac and woould like to know if I have to install tiger on it.

No one answered because there really isn't any way to have any idea when this will happen. They are probably working on it right now, but there hasn't been any major announcements. Maybe something will come up at NAMM.

Yeah, I thought it would've been done by now too. Digi's running a little later on this one that with previous OS compatibility updates, however the holiday season and vacation time might've played into it somewhat. Anyway, hopefully it'll come along soon along with qualification for the new Mac Pro's, I'm starting to realize my G5 is getting very long in the tooth.

Avid saying they won't have their software ready for 10.5 until mid 2008...... same company. Same timeframe?

not the same company, separate programers, different corporate culture, based in separate time zones, don't seem to share needs back and forth

Pro Tools Compatibility with new Mac Pro Systems
01/09/08

Digidesign is committed to the Mac platform, and we are very excited about Apple’s most recent software and hardware introductions. We’re currently working to provide Pro Tools® compatibility with the new multi-core Mac Pro computers and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), and expect to release support for both concurrently. Until this time, please be aware that Pro Tools software is not currently compatible with the new multi-core Mac Pro or with Leopard, so please wait until support is officially announced before upgrading your system.

Initial Leopard compatibility with Pro Tools will not include support for Avid Mojo® or Avid Mojo® SDI, however, support for Avid® video peripherals is expected in a future Pro Tools compatibility update.

i suspect they'll be ready in few weeks...

Yeah, I hope soon...

I couldn't resist. My 8-core should ship monday

It will be a sad few weeks (or hopefully not months...) waiting for it to be ready. I will have to use my macbook pro until then.

Please Digidesign!!!! Work quickly!!!!

According to Digidesign tech support here in the UK after a phone call yesterday, it will be 6 - 8 weeks.
