Default Constant 6093 Errors with 002 and Dual 2.7 G5

I am contantly getting the 6093 errors with a 002 and Pro Tools on our school's dual 2.7 G5. I'm running Pro Tools LE 7.1cs7, OS 10.4.6, and there's 1.5 GB of RAM in the system and a dedicated internal SATA audio drive. I have tried ALL of the trouble shooting steps posted here, and even went as far as re-installing Mac OS and Pro Tools and it is still happening. This happens with all H/W buffer settings, all DAE Buffer settings, Processor is set to 2, I've tried changing the CPU usage, all energy saver settings are correct....nothing seems to help!! I'm getting quite frustrated with this and don't know why this is happening on such a fast machine. Any suggestions Digi?? Please help! This computer is used in a school and our course relies on this machine and it is not delivering.

What firewire port are you using? There have been some reports of the rear ports having problems. Try using the front one.

I have been using the rear port. I will try the front one. Has this fixed many user's problems?

I just opened PT 7.1 on a brand new G5. no plugins, no firewire drives, just internal.

Wouldn't play for more than half a second before a -6093 or -6086.

Changed over to use the front fireware port. Hey presto! Works!

Hi
I had 6093 errors in 5 sec intervals. I downloaded the latest Quick Timeplayer . I had two "receipts" of quicktime in the folder and trashed the oldest and the 6093 error disappeared. 002r dual 1.25 G4 PT 7.

I just bought a used Dual 2.7 G5 because my Dual 1G wasnt happy once I installed PT 7.1

I did a fresh install of OSX ( 10.4.6 ) Made sure I had no plug-ins that were incompatible.. Made sure airport was turned off, journaling ON, etc.. ( all the stuff digi suggests )

I am now very HAPPILY mixing sessions since - with 35 to 45 traxs w / 25-30 plugs active and NO ISSUES at all

2.5 gigs of RAM..and a 512 buffer..no problem

Are you using the front or rear firewire port?

any solutions to the problem with the rear firewire port on PowerMac G5's? My system is working on the front firewire port, but I'd rather use the rear firewire port.

Front/Rear post thing is KooKoo...

Can anyone with any APPLE G5 knowledge explain why this is SOOOOOOOO RETARDED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

G5's seem to be faster than G4's but the port thing is Insane!!!!!! G4's were much better for FW400 & 800.....
