It is only 4 months since macOS Big Sur come out which is not compatible with Pro Tools. That means there are only 7 or so months before the next macOS comes and then Pro Tools would only be two macOS behind.
So what's the rush.

It’s officially not supported but it’s running like butter in my M1 Mini.

New MacOS will announce at WWDC later this year, ship in the fall as always. Guesses on names include a few Apple trademarks including Mammoth, Monterey, Skyline and Rincon.

Historically speaking we have good chance for it, but we are now in a middle of a huge transition so it may be supported on Intel but not Apple Silicon. We should know soon enough

Bloody Mac OS upgrades..

Imagine how good Pro tools would be at this stage if they didn't have to make it compatible with a new OS every year or so..

Imagine every update just new features/fixes..

That is one way to think of it. Another one would be how good it would be without need for Windows support...

little birdy tells me the beta team has builds of 2021.03 right now, no idea how far along or what's new but it's stable. Hopefully by the end of the month we'll see what they're been working on...

I know there are a lot of people still using 32-bit OSs, but it will be beneficial to PT when they cease 32-bit support. Many things improved in Catalina when this happened on the OS level. I suspect that we're still a ways out from that, but Avid must be gearing up for it. That will slow the release of versions of PT.
