Default To Digi : another bug

Here I have some elastic audio files IN USE on tracks.

Now I select unused (shift-apple-u) and select clear (shift-apple-b).

Now I click "Remove".

The elastic audio files IN USE have disappeared!

Surely this can't be right.

Watch this: http://webcrap.ca/DUC/movies/EADanger.mov Someone posted it couple months ago. . . I would have thought Digidesign would have suspended all weekends and sleeping until this was fixed, but there doesn't seem to be anything that urgent on the left coast.

Interestingly - this is similar the bug I just posted today. My regions disappear when I import elastic audio tracks (using Import Session Data) from PT8 to PT7.4. However, I'm using Varispeed or Rhythmic to manipulate. I'll test to see if this continues to happen when importing session data into PT 8 as well.

Thanks,
Christian

Thanks guys. Yeah it's elastic pitch. I love Pro Tools but honestly sometimes it drives me [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ing nuts

To Digi : can we not delete unused audio regions anymore, for fear that we'll end up deleting regions that are actually in use? Not being able to clear unused regions is proving a real headache for data management.

PS I could really do without seeing this error after deleting what I thought were UNUSED regions. Yes, the magic word here is UNUSED.

How is it that a software developer can take an option that has worked reliably and consistently for over 10 years and just f*ck it up without warning? Now I look like a complete c*nt for no reason of my own. AAAGH.

Believe me - I hear you. I logged this one a few months back and am hoping for a fix soon. As always, I can't give specifics about when it may be fixed, but just know that it's high on the list.

Just food for thought.
