re:looking advice PT 12 HD - HDX card - OS



Im on a MacPro5,1 3.2 Ghz Quad (mid 2010) with SSD Drive

os 10.12.6 running PT 12.8.2 HD, just got it up and runing and plugin loaded,
good so far. would I gain any thing going to os10.13.6 / PT HD 12.8.3
PT 11.3 HD ran very well on this mac

Get another SSD and install 10.13.6 and the version you want to use 12.8.3.
You can compare their performance for yourself. You are kind of on an island by your self. I always try to run the last OS X, in your case Mojave, but you would need a metal capable graphic card. BUT you should look on the avid site for compatibility with PT HD 12. So High Sierra might be the end of the road.
