Default Sample Rate

I am all of the sudden getting this message. "Could not complete the Open Session... command because Pro Tools could not set sample rate to specified value". PT won't let me open old or create new sessions, I get the same error every time. I am using the MOTU 896 as my interface on Win 8.1 and my system has been rock solid for about 8 months. I did switch my sample rate inside the MOTU audio console from 44.1 to 48 yesterday and switched it back to 44.1 today. I have tried restarting the machine and nothing seems to work. Everything else seems to be working fine on my computer. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried to import session data into a new session and open it that way. It might be a corrupt session ?

I was finally able to get it to let me create a blank session and then I was able to open an older session. I successfully tried bouncing to disk and then opened yet another session and PT shuts down and gives me a runtime error. I had to repeat the entire process again and get the exact same results. I also noticed that someone in the PT 11 forum has also posted a similar sample rate issue.

I ran the repair feature from the 11.2 update and it did not help. If I uninstall PT from control panel are there other things I need to do to ensure a clean install (reg etc)?

Thanks

Sounds like your clock is set to external with no valid clock source.
