Default Motherboard questions - Please Help!!

I have not purchased Digi yet, but am anticipating a purchase in the very near future. In the meantime I am upgrading from a VIA chipset to the "recommended" 440bx chipset with an Intel processor. I am looking into a PIII 700-800 and have found a board that seems to be compatible. However, I thought I would ask the forum what they thought. Below are the board specs:

SOYO SY-6BA+100 i440BX
133MHz FSB ATA 100

If anyone suggest something different, please post type and model. This board is available at my local computer retailer for $ 129.00.

Thanks in advance.

I use the ASUS A7V with an Athlon TBird. It's faster than a PIII in a lot of benchmarks. It works great and is maybe a cheaper system. The system runs smoothly with the Digi 001.

The T-bird really works? I'm building a 001 setup for a freind and would love to go AMD, but I'm feeling paranoid about all the anti-AMD proaganda on Digi's support pages....

ATHLON works great. I think the reason why everybody's talking about their unstable machines is their windows setups.
I recommend installing Windows 98SE in custom mode WITHOUT any extras. That means, no Communications, Internet Tools, Games etc.
Then the system WILL boot extremely fast with no delay - no problems.
Just keep your Windows short of programs and ONLY install the stuff you need.
The VIA chipsets works for me. It's just the Wavedriver though, which is r e a l l y SLOW in Windows applications.

Good luck with your ATHLONS - Just go for it!
