Default New prob with repaired 002

My 002 (harness?) went down a while ago and the local Digi guys fixed it (I gather the harness was replaced).

The unit seems to be fine except for one strange bug.

Sometimes when I open a session, the scribble strips don't light nor do the faders go to position. If I open the i/o dialogue and click on "default", everything springs back to life.

This happens on new (default i/o) and old sessions.

Any advice or anyone else come across this?

Best regards,

Haigbabe

I did my own harness swap (about 6 mos back) and all has been OK until recently when I noticed the dreaded flickering LED's (this time on tracks 3&4).. No other problems though. Still, I think I'll call Digi to see if I'm still covered (even though i did my own harness swap).

I did my own swap also and haven't had any problems yet.

I did ask if I was still covered and they assured me I was, so call and get them to fix it. Its kinda crappy to pay the cash we did and the thing to have a few major flaws in the hardware, we wo't even talk about bouncing here.

I've been really happy with the 002, its so nice to have faders at you fingers and let the mouse go.
I hope Digi stands by their hardware, let us know what happens.

I replaced the cable on my own to but I get this flickering on channels 5&6.
I called them explained to them my problem, the told me to try restarting the firmware by holding the three buttons STANDALONE ENTER and the middle one I cant remember the name but it's in the middle of these three. Turn off the console, now by holding these three buttons start the console, it will ask you for firmware, start the ProTools and it will update the firmware.
In my case it only made it worst, because before I updated the firmware, the blocking and the flickering use to happen once in a while, now it's constantly blocking and ristarting, and flickering so bad that you can't see a thing in LED's number 5&6.
They told me to send it to them and they will send me back a replacement for my digi.
This shows that digi really cares about the equiment.
PEACE

It's a very simple fix. (if the flickering got worse, i'd have tried reloading the firmware once or twice more before giving up on it...but chances are that if it went from bad to worse, the flash memory was probably going bad...it happens, but isn't very frequent, most prom's can be flashed at least a few thousand times)

Greetings.

Thanks for the advice.

I have now reloaded the firmware (thanks Besnik B!).

Will see how it goes.
