Default 'Unable to Locate Digidesign Hardware'

I am having (slightly predictable) problems. I have upgraded from Tiger to Leopard (10.5.5 Combo update) and from PT 7.1 to 8.0 at the same time
PT (8.0) will not start because it is unable to recognise my 96 interface. I get the error message when trying to start PT.
I realise that there are all sorts of plug in problems with leopard and I have updated them all. This made no difference. Neither has removing all the plugins from the plugin folder.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Again no joy.
Any ideas on where to start with this??
Thanks
Fran

sometimes if i restart my 192 after the mac is bootted it gets a better handshake when that happens without having to start all over again in the morning.

Have you tried trashing prefs? What about running DigiTest or testing from a new admin account?

I would start with those as well as looking at other possible solutions from the General Troubleshooting thread. If you're unable to resolve the issue, please post complete system specs, so we can see what you're working with.

Sorry to be picky. . . I suggest you might want to add the link for "General Troubleshooting - HD for Mac" to your signature. Also, when you click on the Help us help you - READ THIS BEFORE POSTING! in your signature, the first thing is Pro Tools HD on Mac but it is a dead link. I guess use HD users don't need any help because we have it together :)
