An ASIO Driver that works with Wavelab
I'm using a 24 Mix Plus TDM system on WIN XP. I recently upgraded to 6.1 and installed the included beta ASIO driver. Although this driver supports playback in Windows Media Player , playback in Wavelab does not work.
I of course selected the ASIO Digi Driver under Wavelab's preferences, and when I attempted playback in Wavelab (v 4.01b) I got an error message stating it's unsupported. I've read a number of posts on this conference from several months back, but still haven't seen a post prescribing a definitive fix for a Windows TDM user on PT 6.1. Come on Digi, surely you've got a revised ASIO driver that will support one of the most popular editing/CD burning software packages on our platform, right? This is particularly frustrating because when I was running 5.3.1, playback in Wavelab worked fine.

Re: An ASIO Driver that works with Wavelab
Hi,
The ASIO driver was tested with version 4.0 of Wavelab. We have had other users report problems after upgrading to 4.0.1. Would it be possible for you to roll back to 4.0 to see if this version will work properly? Thanks, Digidesign Tech Support |

Re: An ASIO Driver that works with Wavelab
You can't access the ASIO control panel from Wavelab. So I installed the Cubase SX demo just so I could set up the ASIO stuff. Wavelab works fine, some minor issues when importing CD tracks but nothing an application restart doesn't fix...

Re: An ASIO Driver that works with Wavelab
EUREKA!!!!
Thanks Rail for directing me to that other thread. I've been trying to get Wavelab to work with my Mixplus-888/24 setup for ages and noone, including Digidesign Support, has been able to help me. The "click and hold" thing in 'Preferences' did it for me. And I've tried with installing Cubase Demo and Reason. In Reason, it's easy to choose the ASIO driver and get it working but it wouldn't when I switched to Wavelab. But now it WORKS!!! Best Regards, John
