Klevgrand just released an update to "Fosfat" plugin with AAX native support. Didn't check if they're other plugs were also updated.

They have. I own 4 from Klevgrand and all became AAX Native this morning.

Since AAX Native already has a meaning (like AAX-DSP) in Pro Tools land, I would like to propose to the group to call these AAX-AS Native (for Apple Silicon) to keep things from being any more confusing than they already are.

It's more complicated than that.

Two non-AS options:
AAX
AAX-DSP

At least four M1 (also known as Mx) options:

AAX Mx compatible (will run under Rosetta)
AAX-DSP Mx compatible (will run under Rosetta)
AAX Mx AS Native (will run in PT AS beta) - you've called this AAX AS Native
AAX-DSP Mx AS Native (will run in PT AS beta) - by the same convention this would be AAX-DSP AS Native

I'm not proposing these names, just listing the categories.

Dominic

Good point, and I like the idea, but with developers calling it AAX Native it's tough to remember to ignore their lead.

I call AAX-DSP exactly that: AAX-DSP. AS is audio suite in my brain. And, yes, there are those plugin which show in the plugin list under PT Silicon but will not actually open. There are too many classifications. Luckily, it's being honed down to one or two... eventually... hopefully.

AS traditionally stands for Audio Suite in PT land. This might be confusing as well.

Hey all I have been using Pro Tools strictly In native mode for while now. I also have been using only third party Silicon native plugins and I find it to be more stable than in Rosetta. All of my other non-native plugins are in the un-used folder. CPU performance wise, so far I only find it to be marginally better, maybe 5 to 10 percent better than Rosetta. As far as functionality, PT seems snappier and faster especially when starting up and loading plugins. I'm getting a lot of work done! I think I'll stay right here and see what's next at the non-beta release. I have enough 3 party native plugins to do so. If anyone is interested I have attached a virus free PDF of the plugins I have been using. I'm really looking forward to the next release. Go Avid!

I forgot to mention that I also use BlueCat PatchWorks for a few more native silicon AU and VST3 plugins that are not on this list. Just a few.... I have also been doing session with the Dolby Atmos Render and it's all good. I don't use the Dolby Atmos Music Panner though, just the Pro Tools panners.

Certain plugins will shine in Native more than others. Reverbs and synths, for instance. And that will vary greatly between products. Many others simply won't be easy to detect as faster under Native.

I'm also noticing what you're saying: ProTools itself is faster and smoother, and quite a bit faster to start and open sessions. Full Native support will be nice but it's not going to change the world.

Superior Drummer and EZBass were updated! Launches fine without Rosetta. I'm not sure about EZKeys.
