Default MBOX vs 001

Why would one go with 001 any longer?

Wel, the 001 offers a lot that the Mbox doesn't. For starters, the ability to get 18 simultaneous inputs as opposed to 2. If you don't need more inputs (i.e. you're not recording drums) then get the Mbox, I got mine yesterday and it is awesome.

If you want to bypass the MBOX pres and use your own, the 001 will make that a lot easier.

Any ideas how the pres compare? (MBox vs 001)...I'm running an "old" B&W G3 350, and I'm considering the 800 iMac. Of course, I would have to go the MBox way, but I never use more than 2 inputs, fan noise would no longer be a problem (iMac ) and the jump from 350 G3 to 800 mhz G4 would be a big plus, especially with the other apps Am I missing something here or is it a good idea?

Hey Daryl Bowden,

How do you get 18 simultaneous inputs with
the 001?

Could you give me the run down on this?

This is covered in "Producing in The Home Studio, by D. Franz." He walks you right thru it...
