I just used the Phoenix for an orchestral score I recorded.
It does not beat our bricasti, but it sounds very natural.

OK. Was wonderring if I need to switch plugins when I want to go from a small room to a cathedral type long sfx reverb.

Frank.

Frank.
You can stay in the same plug--no need to change just for that. In a sense, there's a lot of common ground: they'll both do rooms, plates, huge halls, chambers of all sizes. A large hall on PhoenixVerb Surround will sound different than a large hall in R2 Surround (generally the R2 Surround will be more prominent and less subtle).

So you might choose either of the two based on the character you're looking for, but either one will cover all of the basic points you're looking for in a reverb.

You should try the R2 instead.

I am testing these and I agree wholeheartedly with Marti (Dr Sound) - they make my jaw drop in a nice way! (takes me back to happy days with a Lex300 in the days of my Logic1/Audiofile).
These reverbs are just SO realistic and are I suspect going to be my go verbs!

enjoy

Thanks for the tip,
I bought it, but haven't taken it for a spin yet.
Sounds like I will have to get the surround bundle as well
Care to share any favourite R2 settings for orchestra?

I'd like to know how heavy it is on the CPU, I am talking about the surround. Also, how efficient is the automation, can one change full settings - not only adjust the setting but actually automating the changing of presets- via automation?

Interesting. So which version is more post work oriented? R2 or Phoenix?

The automation changes just like an EQ.
Never had a problem.
The efficiency is very good. See Post #15 above. Please wait for numbers until the demo arrives .
It will be very soon.

You can change presets with automation however you like. All of the parameters are updated (as long as you checked them off in the automation dialog). I don't currently update the name of the preset, but all the values do change.
