Default Compatibility between New Mac Pro and Pro Tools

Hello Specialists,

We would like to hear your satisfaction with Pro Tools with Mac Pro-6 core 2013.
Please let us know which specific OSX(e.g., 11.3.3 / 12.5, etc.) do you use and how you satisfy with it.

Thank you for your Intel and best wishes,

I am very satisfied with my Mac Pro-6 core 2013! I'm using Yosemite 10.10.5/Pro tools 12.4.0 and it is very stable and very fast. It's been the best computer I've have ever purchased for just about everything i use it for including Pro Tools. Another thing I like about Mac's, is I don't have to be a computer tech any more. I can just be creative making music.

I have a 2013 Mac Pro. Mine is a 4 core with 32 gigs of ram. Works great. It's unstoppable with logic and usually very good with Pro Tools. I have the 500 gig drive. Pro Tools 12.5 and OS 10.10.5.

+1 for me. Been using the MP 6,1 since 2014 and it hasn't missed a beat. I've found Yosemite with Quartz Beug and beam sync disabled runs best (graphically).

I also run Logic 10.2.2 and PT 12.5, only downside is the price, horribly expensive

Dear Zion,

Thank you for your post! We are happy for you and beautiful to hear your experience! It is interesting that your combination is different from Avid Knowledge Base and still working fine. We tend to be afraid to update OSX and PT version for avoiding any bugs and trouble for everyday work. We often work with 96k & 32bit f sample rate. How high do you go and how about the fan of Mac Pro?

the 10.10.5/12.4 combo is actually on the list...?

aylavid, WWDC is 2 weeks away, if you're considering a purchase maybe wait until the keynote... There are a numbers of rumors (some reliable some not) indicating there are very good chances a Mac Pro 7,1 will be announced this year. I know sometimes we can't wait and we buy because we have to, but, just sayin'

Dear KV626,

Thank you for your concern. Yes, we have also been considering same matter too. Makes us think that how new CPU gets faster ...etc. But same time we need to think what we have to do every day. It is a matter of can we wait about next half year to a year.

2 reasons that make us thinking to go to 2013 Mac Pro.
1. When Apple release new products, it often troubles at the beginning. So we usually wait about least a half year. Besides, we never know when Avid catches up to new Mac Pro.

2. There is refurbished Mac Pro. So we can save little expenses.

We consider same way as you do that how new CPU gets faster for new Mac Pro.. etc. But same time we need to think what we have to do every day. It is a matter of can we wait about a half year to a year.

If you have any different way of thinking, appreciate your resource.
How is your Mac Pros with PT?
