PTMT 8 with OSX 10.9 (Maverick) runs good.

Now my investment in Pro Tools and the Mac it was designed for sit idle. When, exactly, do you expect to fix this glitch? I don't want to fiddle with going back and forth between mountain lion and mavericks. I just want to be able to use my $800 PT software and interface on a state of the art apple operating system. I understand PT11 doesn't work on it either? You people's priorities and planning appear somewhat "Cart before the horse," to me"!
Never update an OS with in 30 days of it's release. Apple has dropped a few bombs over the years. anyone remember 10.2.8 that killed the NIC port.

Pro Tools is a very complicated program and it got that way by bypassing the OS to get things done. Historically it takes to the x.y.2 release of an OS to get Pro Tools and the OS to play nice.

Attitudes on all sides enough to go around.

You spend $800 on software, but don't put something towards backing it up in case the "person you share the computer with?" changes something.

Equally annoying is the "I can't understand why people feel the need to upgrade" crowd.

Upgrade if you want. I like to upgrade. Be prepared to revert if it doesn't work.
A lot of people are happily using Mavericks/PTs combinations, others aren't so lucky.

Can't we all just get along?

Mavericks works fine for me. But I am trying it out on a back-up hard drive. I never upgrade my main hard drive until everything is officially approved. But nothing wrong with trying it out and seeing for yourself if it works. Just make sure you have a back up plan.

And IMO, and yes it's just an opinion, but if you are serious about doing audio work you should always have a back-up with a known solid configuration.

That is exactly what separates the multitude

Didn't this get squashed back in the 90's?
I would think by 2013 everyone inherently would know not to get the latest upgrade the moment it comes out. Or a month later. Till the vender makes a statement, "Okay, you can upgrade now.. we checked it out and it's a go"

I am going to assume this post will come up with OSX 10.10 and then on 10.11 all the way till.. I guess forever.

Some users weren't born in 1990 so what seems old hat is a new beret for others.

Thanks so much for your opinion. You certainly are entitled to it.
Wow I wish they would get the message about my thoughts on the price point of the omni package - clearly they are not onboard with my ideas on that
