Default M-POWERED (new) ONLY 2 INPUTS

Hello,

I've just bought PT M-Powered and am having a few issues with it. I was running MBox 2 prior to this without any problems at all from my PC.

My chipset is a Pentium P45G, which is compatible according to the Digidesign site, and I've had no problems for a year using it with MBox2.

I'm using M-Powered with an M-Audio Delta 1010LT soundcard. The 1010LT works fine with other recording programmes, with all 8 available inputs working.

When I launch PT M-Powered, there are only 2 inputs and SPDIF available, when there should be 8 inputs plus SPDIF.

I've downloaded the latest drivers for the Delta 1010LT and also installed the latest update for M-Powered from the Digidesign site - (7.3.1cs3 I think it is - it's the latest one available on the site anyway.)

M-Powered was able to play back sessions I'd recorded with MBox2 LE, so that seems to be ok - I haven't tried recording in M-Powered yet.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem of the inputs, as I obviously bought it so I can record 8 tracks at the same time.

Also, an MBox2 session I loaded into M-Powered played the Audio tracks ok, but I had drum tracks with BFD Lite on an instrument track and they're not playing - BFD Lite is still installed on my PC - do I need to do something to be able to use it in M-Powered?

Thanks in advance...

Sounds like you only need to open your I/O Setup window and click the default button on all the tabs.

If you are opening sessions that were started on the MBox, the I/O Settings will be set for the mBox. However, it should prompt you when you open the session that the I/O Settings have changed/are different.

Are you getting those pop ups? Are you ignoring them?

Thanks SPK....stupid of me to not have thought of it.

I read a lot of your replies to other posts, and it's great to see you sharing your knowledge...thanks.

A while ago I saw a link you posted showing how to colour whole chanel strips in the PT 7.3 Mixer window....I couldn't see it on your Newb link above....where can I find that tute?

It's linked from my NewB page;

PT NewB Help -> How To... link -> then under the "Tips & Tricks" heading at the bottom of the page; How to change the track colors

Nope, not really. Those are the instructions to a "T".

Make sure you are holding down all three modifier keys when you click and hold the mouse and drag over the color palette.

Cool...the colouring worked...I did the same as before but at least now it works.

A very useful tool when visually grouping tracks in the Mixer, which becomes a vortex when it's all grey...fantastic...
