Default How do you add VST plug-ins or RTAS programs?

Sorry..I'll be this is a bonehead question, but I would like to add a few new plug-ins to the list of RTAS programs..How do you do this? Also how do you install and use VST plug-ins with PTLE 6.1.1

Thanks

To add RTAS programs, you buy them and install them, they will show up.

WIth VST, you purchase the FXpansion VST --> RTAS adaptor. Then place the VST plugins in the vstlpugins folder under the Fxpansion install, then run the fXpansion wrapper which will convert the VST to RTAS, then they will show up the next time you run PTLE.

Cheers! GOod starting point

I have been doing a little research into Protools systems as a possible buyer. One thing I have discovered is that another possible way to get your vst's to run in PTLE is through a rewire host. Plogue bidule is good if you're cross platform as it will also host audio unit plugs. If you're windows only, then look into flstudio fruity edition. It can be run as a rewire client and can host vst/vsti/DX/DXi, and they offer lifetime free updates too! If you give FLstudio a go please post here and let me know how it runs with protools. I'm thinking of getting into PTLE/MP and would like to use some of my vst's if possible so I'd be very grateful for your input.

Cheers

YOu can also use them as track inserts! That is the best way to go for plugins, as it is non destructive!
