Default switching from one cat to the other...Help!!

Hey guys I'm finally moving to Panther and have searched and read, but need a few answers please!!
I got my old original 20gig main hard drive partitioned in two. One side has Jaguar the other OS9.
Will Panther run good with OS9 on same drive? I need OS9 for a 3D program of mine. Can I just throw OS 9.2.2 on another drive?
Also...I have a empty 40gig fire wire drive, and thinking of carbon copy cloning the Jaguar drive to it. Then Installing a bigger main drive, (my 20gig original drive has like 800mb left on it) I see Panther needs 2gigs. Has anyone did the CCC move when installing Panther? I haven't used CCC in a long time. Or maybe....CCC'ing Jaguar to the empty 40gig and installing Panther on that...then moving that drive to the main internal drive "Master" spot?
Guess what I'm trying to ask is...directions to moving Jaguar over to a temporary drive so I can install a bigger one ...then moving it back and installing Panther and the rest of my programs? Can anyone please give me some insight on this?

Also is PTLE 6.4 running good with 10.3.5? Fxpansion said thier system that is set up like that runs great with the vst rtas adapter.

Thanks guys, I want to make this move as painless as possible
