Pro Tools Ultimate 2024.3.1 trial not including any plugins, HEAT or Digilink I/O li?

Hi all,

I was going to give PT another spin as it *might* look as if the most recent version 2024.3.1 could offer some bug fixes to issues I have reported around 10 years back. Better late than never they say, eh?

I subscribed for a trial, but I noticed it doesn't include the plugin bundle, nor HEAT nor the DigiLink I/O license. I seem to recollect that it did in the past. has anything changed here? Is it deliberate or just another avid accident?

I would prefer to run the trial subscription as it would run with all included Avid plugins. I just don't want any nasty surprises anymore.

Any ideas? Anyone at AVID can have a look into this?

Many of the additional plugins are in separate installers.

What *exactly* do you mean by "not included"?

You don't have the separate but included in Ultimate Avid Complete Plugin Bundle (ACPB) subscription in your iLok account (and activated to your physical iLok or iLok cloud)?

You don't have the additional installers in your My Products section on Avid.com - if so that is an Avid problem, it used to work OK. If you do have the ACPB licenses on your iLok then you should be able to find the plugin bundles in the Avid Download Center under your Avid Account. But you should normally just find the latest stuff in your My Products section.

If you are ignoring all the posts on DUC warning against using Avid Link and hoping it will do it's job here to get this working for your... uh well. Uninstall that crap now and manually install plugins from the installers in your My Products section.

Avid Digilink licenses were done away with years ago and are not needed with Ultimate to run Digilink interfaces.

I wouldn't be so sure on this. Cannot currently test this claim as I am running CoreAudio at home.

Just recently when Avid updated my licenses, I got fresh new DigiLink licenses too. DigiLink is also bundled into my Ultimate bundles, so in total I have 5 DigiLink licenses and I don't believe they are for nothing.

Can you maybe just google stuff you are not clear about in future before trying to correct things folks post on DUC. Just try to add clarity here not take away from it. The license was done away with years ago, like I have already said. And yes I'm sure about it or I bloody well would not have posed that comment. It has not been needed in releases for the last several years. This was documented at the time and has been much discussed on DUC over the last years.

OK, thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that a DigiLink I/O license is no longer required for current Pro Tools versions. So that's settled.

What I meant by 'not included' is that when you request a Pro Tools Ultimate trial license, you get only that, and the plugin bundle and HEAT are no longer included in the trial (i.e. you get no temporary license for them). So, you only get the skeleton app, without the plugins. This makes it hard to test in any meaningful way.

And as I said: I do seem to recollect from a previous effort of giving Pro Tools another chance that these plugins were in fact included in the trial at that time.

So there is only the Pro Tools bundle license deposited in your iLok account? No Avid Complete plugin Bundle subscription license? Check very carefully. I thought the ACPB license was included in the trial, thought it had been when I trialed it several years ago, but maybe I am wrong on that. If not that is pretty silly.

Pro Tools HD 12.6 through Pro Tools | Ultimate 2021.12, a "Pro Tools DigiLink I/O " license is required in order to use HDX and HD Native hardware.
In Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.4, the license was built into the software and is not longer necessary.
