PT 6.9 & 002 Firewire connection HELP!!!

Working on my session, when I receive a dialog box saying I need to reset my firewire connection. Soon after the 002's fader all go down and the 002's screen reads Validating. After about 30 seconds, the 002 stops responding.
I've tried restarting the computer and the 002, but it continues to freeze.

There's lots of help around here....can you give us a little info on your setup? MAC? Firewire drives? Daisy chained?

I have a G5 2.7 processor and 2G of RAM
I'm running OSX Tiger.
Protools 6.9.2
002 mixer
LaCie 160G external hard drive

While I'm working on my session, I get an error (6086) to increase the buffer size. So, I do increase it, but then I get the same error message, and then my 002 freezes up. I can still move around in the session (in the Edit mode)but the 002 can not communicate with the computer. I then get a message that the firewire needs to be reseted. I've tried shutting everything down, unplugging the cables, then starting it all up again, but ten minutes later, the same problems occurs.
Can anyone help me?

I had a similar problem. I kept getting those (6086) or (6093) errors. It would tell me to increase the buffer size, but I was already maxed out! I tried everything, even formatting. Then I tried hooking the firewire cable to the FRONT firewire port, instead of the back. Guess what.......it worked! I have not had a problem since. How do you have your connections? I believe the 002 comes last in the series, but I might be mistaken. Check some other posts, I remember reading something about this.
