adding or cutting time and playlists
Is there a way to make all playlists in a session follow any add/cut time modifications?
Sometimes I'm editing a song form, and want to change it slightly, then later I might also realize there's a wonky note or syllable or something after I've done the form changing. Going through previous takes when they don't align any longer with the song is kind of annoying... Any tricks? Thanks, happy Friday! |

Re: adding or cutting time and playlists
The steps that I think are necessary, just before you add or cut time, is to select all or select only the tracks you want to NOT preserve existing timing (what you said sounds like you want playlists to follow the cut/add or in other words, NOT preserve).
With ALL group enabled, or the intended tracks selected (then Alt+Shift-click), or simply Alt-click whenever without grouping or selecting, on the Track View Selector, and choose "playlists" so that ALL the tracks you want to "follow" are in playlists mode. THEN, when you add or cut time, the underlying lists should follow.

Re: adding or cutting time and playlists
Yes, but that does NOT address the issue that the playlist channels are not included in the selection unless you painstakingly drag the selection across ALL the playlists in the session. ARGGGHHHH. this has been an issue from day one of the playlists era. WE NEED to be able to include playlists in the "all" selection option. PLEASEEEEEEEEE

Re: adding or cutting time and playlists
Yes it's a pain. I do a lot of conforming across playlists and find going into playlist view and then dragging across the top ruler to select all playlists for the section is the best way to select them all (hiding any tracks you don't want to include).
We do need a button option to include playlists in a conform... long overdue. |
