Euphonix MC Mix / AVID Artist Mix Cubase 8.5 OSX compatibility

Hi,

Will the Euphonix MC Mix / AVID Artist Mix work with Cubase 8.5 on OS X 10.10 Yosemite, 10.11 El Capitan and 10.12 Sierra?
Which drivers do I have to install etc?

I use the ARTIST Control and the ARTIST Mix with Cubase Pro 8.5 (V9 is expected to be released in a couple of weeks) under El Capitan (OSX 10.11.6) and it works just fine. The only irritant that the control surfaces doesn't follow the visibility settings in the MixConsole. But that is a Steinberg issue.

I haven't tried Sierra yet (I'm still waiting for a couple of plug-ins), but AVID has cleared EuControl 3.5 as compatible with Sierra and Steinberg has just done the same with Cubase v8.5.20. So, it should work. But make sure that all your thirdparty plug-ins are compatible aswell.

I'm not sure about Euphonix MC Mix, though. From what I've read, AVID has discontinued support for them. However, since the Euphonix badged and the AVID badged surfaces are essentially the same product, the EuControl software should work.


You need to install EuControl 3.5 for the Control/Mix surface. The Steinberg side of things are installed with Cubase Pro.
