Default I just registered my PT9 on August 4th....

I'm so absolutely mad that PT10 is out so soon and it will cost me $299 for the privilege to "upgrade". I've had this for only 2.5 months!! I'm a student and I paid $300 for it. Now Avid wants me to shell out ANOTHER $300 for this? I really don't think that this is the way for Avid to get students on the Pro Tools bandwagon.

OK, I guess it would have helped if I read a little more on this forum. It appears that anyone who has an Academic License for Pro Tools is eligible for 4 years of upgrades included in their original license. So, since I registered in August of 2011, I'm covered for Pro Tools upgrades until August 2015. I'm happy that this is the case (actually this is a generous upgrade policy for students but smart to get us on board to be future professionals loyal to the brand).

Happy to see that
