man, i feel sucker punched having bought a mac book pro less than a month ago. now twice the power and ram for the same price. this sucks...

Yeah, I feel your pain, the same thing happened to me a few yesars ago.. Now I visit Macrumors.com every day to check for inside info. They had this switch pegged months ago. I was able to sell my MacBook Pro 17" for close to what I paid for it.. I think I'll probably go with a 15" this time though..

Oh, also, the word is the MacBooks are to be upgraded to Core 2 Duo soon as well!

you know what?! my macbook pro works flawlessly (after sending it back to apple and getting the HD replaced) with protools le, my 002r, and mbox 2. i am just going to go with it and be happy. i already have way more processing than i use with the core duo..
