Hello,
I have a problem with potentiometer. One potentiometer is broken. Does anyone have any information about the spare part of that device? Model or where to order! Regards |

They are encoders not pots and they are hard to replace unless you have good soldering skills. Customer Service may be able to get you one if you call them, let me know if not.

One of my rotary encoders on my Artist Mix Black is malfunctioning as well. The rotation and push down is OK, but it does not sense the touch of my finger, so it will not pan anymore.
I opened up the mixer, but found that I have to solder out the encoder to see what type it is. The encoder has 2 wires on top, 3 wires on bottom and 2 large ground tabs on the sides. I'm kind of reluctant to do this before I know I can get a replacement. (There are 4 ground tabs to unsolder to get behind a metal shielding that covers the front, other that that it was just torx and phillips screws to open the Artist Mix) Front of encoder: ![]() Back of encoder, with markings to what I have to unsolder ![]() Front of the Artist Mix: ![]() Back of the Artist Mix: ![]() Another view of the encoder: ![]() |

An encoder like that in your artist mix gives pulses on rotation and closes a contact by pushing the axis.
But the sensing of the touch of your finger is not a function of the encoder. Btw I have the same problem with one of my encoders (no touch sense). If we could get a circuit diagram from AVID (Eddie: please help), I think I could explain the way it works and eventually we both were able to repair the device. If Eddie cannot help us the only way would be to analyze the PCB, but this is much more complicated than working with a circuit diagram. |
