What MP3 players will work with the 6.1 WaveDriver and ASIO with no problems?

I'm trying to find an MP3 player that will dependably play WAVs/MP3s using the 6.1 WaveDriver. MusicMatchJukebox won't work (a prompt appears saying 'WaveOut Format not supported.' And WindowsMediaPlayer attempts to work, but sputters poorly.
I've heard of 2 ways around using the 6.1 WaveDriver (one is simply using a SBlaster to PT, and the other is playing MP3's in 'Import Audio' of a PT session) but, sheesh...do we have to use a 'workaround'?
What is the 'Wave Out format' this 6.1 WaveDriver needs? Swap mentioned getting WinAmp to work with it... so do we all need WinAmp, or are there some settings we can change in other programs for it to work reliably?

Well, I see there was a flood of concern about this topic... [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Just in case anyone might wonder later, Swap was right, WinAmp3 has DirectSound, which works with the 6.1 WaveDriver.
Myself, I found that MMJukebox (zilch) and WMPlayer (sputter) did not work well.

To clarify on the 'workarounds' to even loading the 6.1 WaveDriver, Bastiaan and Aussie suggested:

1.Use a SBlaster, plug it into Digi inputs, and use your 'Monitor Mode' button to play files.

2. Simply play MP3's or WAV's within a PT session, in the 'Import Audio' Window.

Roy I have had trouble playing wavs with my winamp lately, but I dont have 6.1 so I dont think thats my problem. Thing is that wavs "buffer" kind of like listening to streaming audio on a busy server.... its very aggravating.

I dont have PT6.1 yet [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] but is there a way to have winamp 3 work with the ASIO driver?

also my winamp 3 will play .wav's. so i dont know whats wrong with yours

Yes...sorry I didn't make that clear. I'm dealing with the WaveDriver with ASIO and Reason, etc., loaded. 6.1 itself is great so far, if we can just be sure the WDriver works for all other sounds outside of PTools/Reason.
As I say, so far, MP3's play like a champ, but with WAV's, not there yet.
Hopefully, it's something simple.

Back in the studio now and
yes I can play wav files with WinAmp3
but it's finiky. It won't play 24 bit waves.
they have to be 16 bit.
Try a conversion to 44Khz 16 bit stereo and see
what happens.

You're right, swap...(what a drag)... Tell me, what do you use to convert your bit rates...did I hear you mention Sound Forge?
