There are way better mic pres out there. Less expensive as well. You've looked at several from what I remember in previous threads of yours. Why haven't you settled on one of those? The UA 4-710D would be a good one (I remember you looked at that at one point). Again ask yourself how many pres you need? The UA has 4 and the Avid has 8. UA price is $1999 US and the Avid is $2500 US.

I set my mind on the Warm Audio TB12 ... I just saw by chance the Avid interfaces so I just asked nothing more :) and I just read above that an Omni can't be run as standalone or hooked up digitally to another interface ... it needs the HD Card or HD Thunderbolt

Okay. But why would you even think about using an Omni for it's pres? You have to admit that sometimes you come up with the strangest of ideas

Darryl ... the omni can be hooked to an apogee symphony through AES EBU and without the need of an HD PCIe ?

Why would you want to do that? Opinions do vary, but I myself would use the Symphony instead of OMNI for a converter...

I would instead buy a pair of good preamps, such as Focusrite ISA2

Default Apogee Thunderbridge for Avid HD I/O?

It is a matter of opinion, but I like ISA preamps for their neutrality. They may never be the best preamp for where you need them but it will always give you good results no matter the source.

I have 17 ISA preamps so I'm biased :)
