LE 8 doesn't work and can't uninstall

I got Pro Tools and the Mbox 2 Pro, installed it on my mac and everything worked fine. However, the first time I started up Pro Tools I was informed that a newer version was available to download. So I updated, restarted, and now Pro Tools won't start. It just says, "The Application Pro Tools LE quit unexpectedly." I figured I would just uninstall and reinstall version 8.0.0 from my CD and I'll just worry about the update later, but I can't uninstall it! I open the uninstaller, click uninstall, and nothing happens. What is the deal.

I'm not sure why the updated version didn't work for you, but until then, try PTnuke to uninstall the current version, put 8.0.0 back on and use that til we figure out why 8.0.3 doesn't work.

What kind of mac is it? is it a PPC? what's the OS?

I'm using a macbook pro with leopard v10.5.8

and I think that PTnuke is for windows. Is there a mac version or something?
