Please Dear Digi - We Need Mail Logging
I have no way to view any outgoing mail issues, aka logging. Even if I accept the missle-launch-level security, I cannot really tolerate the lack of basic event logging on this appliance.
Please help us ... help you.

What sort of email problems are you experiencing, exactly? Generally speaking, logging wouldn't be of much use because, once it's working, there's very little in the way of things that could go wrong and they can typically be diagnosed by other means. One thing that would be very nice to have is a preference where you can choose to have a copy of the email saved. I use the Save Summary to do it now, but it's just one extra step.

I realize that once a mail goes out, we're at the mercy of the MTAs enroute. It would be nice to see, as an administrator, the trail of sends, retries, or failures just as i would if I administered a mail server. If I could tell the administrator of an external mail system exactly which IP or host my machine talked to, it might assist in tracking down the problem.

OK. One option is to use an alternate mail server instead of the localhost (127.0.0.1). I have a sendmail machine setup, and I can keep track of outgoing activity there.
