Default Need help with MIDI!!!

Hello,

I am completely new to MIDI. I don't even really understand MIDI at all. BUT, that's not my question. I have a client who wants to load his tracks from a Roland VS1680 Track Recorder via MIDI. I am running PT LE through a 002. I have no clue on how to go about this process. Please help me with a step by step instruction or refer me to where I can find out how to bounce these tracks via MIDI. Thanks!

First, I will make an assumption that the other guy doesn't not know midi either. If he thinks he can copy audio tracks from his Roland to anything via midi-it will never happen. Midi has nothing to do with audio as it is a set of control signals for note, note on/off, note duration, etc. If we are indeed refering to midi tracks from the Roland, I would try creating a midi track in PT and patch the midi out from the roland to the midi in on the 002. Put the track in record and play the Roland. Good luck.

Seems easy enough, but thats basically what we tried that day. It seem that there are quite a bit of seetings in Pro Tools that need to bed set correctly to do this transaction, but I'm pretty lost there.
