hello Jeff! many thanks for the confirmation!

I thought they did - but when Tyan told me they didn't i thought maybe i had missed something.... that is really bad customer service.. and i haven't heard anything back from them.

Long time (years) lurker, but new to posting. I have been following these configurations for yrs now. These threads and the work the people put into testing configs, is outstanding.

Keep up the good work!

Tyan just posted a new BIOS version for the S2927A2NRF this morning. Here's the description:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
2008/11/06S2927_v203v2.03
Problem Fix Description:
- Updated AMD AGESA code to v3.3.0.0
- Updated MCP55 NVMM version to v4.082.13.
- Added L2 command capability when using the AFUDOS BIOS flash utility
- Updated CPU Micro coding
- Updated the method in which Chassis intrusion functions and displays information during POST
- Updated the Fan failure method and information displayed during POST
- Fixed an issue where the system would not recover from a S3 wait state when using RHEL 5.2
- Updated the PWM Control functions

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anybody know what these updates will do? I would assume that it's important t keep AGESA & CPU micro coding up to date. MCP55 handles disk & PCI bus access, right?

Anybody tried this version yet? Do you plan to?

i jsut read the title. 8 core cpu?
why the HELL would you want that?
Ide MUCH rather have a 10 ghz single core (theroy ppl, dont come saying things) then a bunch of 2 ghz cores.
multi-coreing only exists because people failed at making faster single cores. you wont get close to 8x the speed even in theroy.

@d3drocks,

Aren't you the guy who has a 20-minute boot time for Windows XP?

Just about to upgrade my Quad (Tyan 2927) to an Octo with (2) 2347 chips. Will I need to reinstall Windows and the chipset drivers as well, or is updateing the BIOS all I need to do?
