Default Congrates DIGI for Excellent Customer Service

My MBox arrived yesterday and I was disappointed to see that I had version 6.4 of PT. I immediately went to the Digi website and easily found the info I needed to get a free upgrade to 6.7. My completed forms were mailed today and the site says it should be 2-3 weeks before arrival. Thanks Digi.

In comparison, I also have Cubase SL 2.2. My order arrived two days before Steinberg started shipping 3.0. To this day I cannot get any info on getting the lastest version without having to pay more money. Every place I email tells me to contact someone else. The contrast in customer service is dramatic.

Thank you Digi for serving your customers and treating us fairly.

There are some people around here who should read this.

They do...
Digi has their policies laid out, organized and posted.
Some other companies seriously lack in that, making it hard and inconsistent to deal with..
Just the way one runs their business, I guess...
>sorry for the OT<

cheers,

While it's certainly good policy to update new purchases to the latest version, I don't see 2-3 weeks as being especially good service.

Usually it's much faster... but they can't guarantee that... especially if they have to wait for a new batch of CD's to be manufactured.

I've seen DUC folk say they've received their updates in a few days.

Hmmm, would you rather pay for your upgrade on a newly purchased software ( and still possibly wait for delivery ) and be in the dark if you are really entitled or not ?
I still say Digi has their policies laid out clear, and delivery time would apply to most other sw products too,

>just my opinion<

At least with Digi, I'm getting my update. I'll wait if I have to. Unlike Steinberg, where I can't even get an answer.

I'll let you know how long it takes. My request went out in the mail Saturday, 1/8/05.

That's true. I got my 6.x upgrade fast and that was shipped from US to Sweden.
