7.3 feature request!

hi

after using 7.3 for a couple hours now i have two observations/requests about future updates - that is, if digi is listening.

1st, this whole new right click automatically opening up a menu of functions is really screwing me up. i have always used the right click to do what *control* click does. is there any way the menu could be made to come up when holding some other key combination and clicking? i don't know if anyone else has this problem, but it really is annoying to me.

2nd, when importing audio a second window comes up now that lets you chose if the file is going to go into the region bin or place the file on a new track. now i don't know about the rest of you digi users, but as a sound designer and sound fx editor, i pretty much never want to actually bring the file in on it's own track and the begining of a timeline...i would love if there was some way to flat out disable this window, or have a selection in the preferences window where one could either make it automatically do one of the two functions, or make it so the window does come up each time to let you decide.

hmmm. wonder if this makes sense to anyone else.

oh well. guess i just had to vent.

Personally, there are pros and cons to this new Right Click function, for example, Right Clicking Track View, Right Click Regions, brillant. The one that gets me is the Right Click Play button in the Transport i.e., Loop. But that's growing on me.

Again, personally, I love this new feature, structured very well, although with the addition of a MIDI Import Options>Destination>Instrument Track would make this feature even better!

yes. there are trade-offs for everything. i figured out how to solve the first problem for now. i just reprogramed my mouse so the right click is actually *control* click.

my overall point is that i wish we users could CHOOSE to use some of the functionality (or not) by setting preferences...more flexibility if you ask me...

i am slowly starting to find more features though that i'm glad the finally implimented.

Ahhh... yes, good point, totally agree, if the feature is requested enough... surely it'll be implemented.
