Default Is transfer of ownership possible with a PT9 license?

Though I know there's nothing stopping any of us from transferring our PT9 asset through iLok to another user - and having to pay the $25 transfer fee. BUT -- my question is -- does Avid allow transfer ownership of a 'software license' like they do for hardware? The reason I think that would be needed (perhaps it isn't) is what happens for future versions of PT9? Upgrades that cost $. How would my buyer get 'upgradeability' of his PT9 to 9.1, let's say...?

Thanks for any info!

I did a search here at the forum. Can you point me to a thread?

I came across this thread via search since I'm planning on selling my PT9 download license (if it's allowed, anyway). Has there ever been an official answer to this?

The PT9HD Upgrade which appears as a Bundle (9HD 9 8HD) cannot be transfered,as shown in the ilok page.

Well it can't be transferred through iLok's 'transfer license' function - that's true. But you can buy a new iLok - synch it to your account - then use the MOVE license command to get the PT9HD license over to the 'new' iLok. THEN within 7 days of your synching the new iLok to your account, and after moving the PT9HD license to it, you can use the REMOVE iLok command and send it to your buyer. I did this recently and it works. Make sure you send a transfer of ownership form to a person you're selling to --

But in the case of the PT9 Standard license -- you can transfer it via iLok's 'transfer license' function.
